I carry the gene for celiac disease and some of my 1st-degree relatives have been diagnosed with it. I’ve never shown symptoms and don’t have elevated antibodies in my blood. Should I still get an endoscopy?
There is no indication that an endoscopy is needed for a 1st-degree relative of someone with celiac disease if no symptoms are present and blood shows no elevated antibodies.
