The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center is grateful to its annual partners, who appreciate both the business benefits of partnership, as well as, and perhaps more importantly, the reality that the Center relies on their financial backing to carry out its mission. The Center, a non-profit completely funded by donations, is an international leader in its field. It has a strong focus on research and education and a unique connection with both medical professionals and consumers. The benefits of partnership serve as acknowledgement of the sincere appreciation for the generous and steadfast support.
Those who host or co-host an event or promotion that raises $2,500 or more per calendar year for The Celiac Disease Center become Friends of the Center for that calendar year. We strongly encourage all event organizers to reimburse themselves for any out-of-pocket expenses associated with hosting an event before donating proceeds to The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center.
Please let us know if you are hosting a fundraiser on our behalf—we would be happy to help promote it when possible. As an acknowledgement of our gratitude, Friends of the Center receive a certificate of appreciation and are listed on our website.
Thank you to all of our Friends of the Center across the country who continue to host local events and promotions to further our global mission.
Signing up for an organized event is just one way for you to support The Celiac Disease Center. Starting your own event is another. You and your friends can walk, run, swim, bike, jump rope, or do any other activity that interests you to raise funds for celiac disease education, research, and advocacy.
A good example of a successful grassroots event is an ice-skating fundraiser is held in a Chicago suburb. The event spreads awareness and raises vital funds for research and programs. In 2014, the event raised more than $50,000 to support our work. If you are interested in creating an event like this in your area or other do-it-yourself fundraising initiatives, contact us. We’ll be happy to help you get started.
