Is there an association between celiac disease and common variable immunodeficiency (CVID)?

CVID can cause similar pathological changes in the small bowel as celiac disease (except there’s an absence of plasma cells in CVID which is how it’s diagnosed). Also, because of low immunoglobulins, celiac can be harder to diagnose (because our serological tests are antibody based). However, we don’t know of a direct link between celiac disease and CVID.
