Frequently Asked Questions

How do you tell if you have fructose malabsorption?

Symptoms of fructose malabsorption include abdominal gas/bloating, cramping, and diarrhea. These symptoms are not unique to fructose malabsorption and may be found with malabsorption of other carbohydrates such as lactose. The diagnostic test is called a hydrogen breath test, similar to the one used to diagnose lactose malabsorption. July, 2012
